About
I work with individuals, couples, groups and professional organizations using a trauma informed approach.
My approach is based in relational neuroscience rooted in presence, care and attunement. I incorporate mindfulness, gestalt therapy, poetry, nature therapy, expressive art therapy, experiential therapy, and sandtray therapy.
Aside from my intensive work as a psychotherapist, I've also worked with athletes, executives, and high performers in both individual and team settings.
In this form of the work, we focus on identity development, ego strengthening, and self-centering skills.
It is my experienced belief that we all have a very wonderful nature of being able to adapt to challenging circumstances. Grief, loss, relational trauma, religious/spiritual trauma, suicidal ideation, abuse, addiction, the onset of shame around painful experiences, work related stress and pressure. Our brains and bodies adapt to move us through these moments. But these adaptations may get to a point in our development that no longer work for us how we want them to.
The adaptations can become obstacles to our experience of wholeness & presence, keeping us in patterns that are no longer helpful. A collaborative, therapeutic relationship can be one way of integrating this disruptive fragmentation of thought and behavior.
I believe that when our relational needs are being met, integration and healing can occur. Our brains and bodies have the capacity to heal when our vulnerability is met with the felt sense of safety.
